I recently watched an episode of HGTV’s Home Town and if you haven’t seen it, go watch it now! It’s about the cutest husband and wife, Ben and Erin Napier, and how they restore and remodel homes in Laurel, MS. Typically every episode Erin will show an easy DIY project to incorporate into the home they are working on. This DIY pressed floral art is my favorite project she’s shown. It’s my kind of project- easy & affordable! I give all the credit to her!
What you’ll need…
- Picture frame- I picked up these $12 floating frames from Target
- Two stone pavers- I picked up two from Home Depot. I think they were $1 for both- so cheap!
- Paper towels
- Flowers/plants- You can use your favorite flower or plant. I used a $5 bouquet from the grocery store, lavender and clipped some leaves from our eucalyptus tree
Once you have everything, here are the steps…
- Clip your flowers to whatever size you would like for the frame
- Place the flowers between the pavers with a few paper towels covering both sides of the plant. This gives a little padding for the flowers between the heavy pavers.
- Place the pavers in the microwave and turn it on for 2-3 minutes. Be careful, the pavers will be hot so use your oven mitts!
- Arrange your flowers however you like in the frame and that’s it!!
These were so fun and easy to make. Not to mention they were so inexpensive! I made one for my mom for Mother’s Day and she loved it! Hope you enjoyed this little DIY!
Thanks so much!
