Winter Wonderland Christmas Decor Home Tour

Christmas is my favorite time of year for decorating my home (fall decor is a close second!). This year will be the third Christmas that we’ve lived in our house and I finally have the perfect decor. The first two years I was struggling to figure out what I wanted just using the decor I already had. Well, this year I decided to purchase a lot more decor to try and make it what I wanted- and it’s finally perfect! The majority of the decor is from Hobby Lobby, Target and Kirklands. I finally settled on a white winter wonderland theme!

Christmas Tree

Foyer/Dining Room

One of my favorite ways to fill an empty space is with a cute basket, a cozy throw blanket and throw pillow.

Living Room

I absolutely love these bookshelves but styling them is SO hard! I love how they turned out but it was a real struggle.

I added snow fluff to the shelves and this made such a difference and made each shelf feel fuller. Small sprinkles of greenery help achieve a fuller shelf, too. I also came up with a little trick that I honestly had to stop myself from doing too much, and that was wrapping my books to look like Christmas presents. This just added so much extra detail that was so easy to achieve!

Kitchen

Over the years I’ve collected colorful Christmas decor pieces, mostly nutcrackers & snow globes, that I would love to display but that don’t quite go with the winter wonderland vibe in the rest of the house. So I thought above the kitchen cabinets was the perfect way to display all the pretty colorful pieces and not have them clash with the rest of the decor.

Breakfast Nook

Front Porch Decor

I absolutely love how the front porch looks this year. I added some throw pillows and lights to the small trees by the front door and these little additions make such a difference.

I just love how the traditional red and green Christmas colors look against our white house and green front doors. 🙂

These lanterns are honestly my favorite Christmas pieces on the porch!

Thank you so much for reading! I’ve linked as many items (similar and exact) that I could find and hope you find it helpful when decorating your home this Christmas!!

Laundry Room Makeover

I’m so excited to share my laundry room makeover with y’all! We’ve lived in our house for 2 years and sprucing up our laundry room was always on my to-do list, but I never really thought about it that much until good ole quarantine. Like everyone else during quarantine, we worked in our yard and did other small projects around the house, but fixing up the laundry room was the project I was most excited about!

Before….

Almost there…..

After! 🙂

I am so happy with how it turned out! The best part was I didn’t really have to buy a lot to decorate it either, I mostly used things that I already had. The cabinets are stock cabinets from Lowe’s and were less than $100 each!

The shelves were made by my daddy and fit so perfectly between the cabinets. They’re really just for decor but that’s fine with me. I do use the little white dish to hold any guitar picks that I find in the washer or dryer from my husband, but other than that just pretty decor 🙂

The tobacco basket was a Dirt Cheap find that I got last year and was so inexpensive. I also already had the dried lavender and the little vase was saved from an old oil diffuser- it’s always a good idea to save little things like this since you never know when you’ll need them! The cookie jar was a wedding gift and would be perfect to store detergent pods. I don’t use them, but if I did I’d have a cute place to store them!

The last thing that I already had was the framed “I love you” note. When my husband and I were dating I left this note on his truck one day and he framed it after he found it. I still think that was the sweetest thing he could’ve done with it!

I have a post all about how to make these diy pressed floral frames!

This was the hanger for my wedding dress and I thought it was much cuter on the wall in the laundry room than hiding in my closet!

Thank you so much for reading!

DIY Pressed Floral Frame

I recently watched an episode of HGTV’s Home Town and if you haven’t seen it, go watch it now! It’s about the cutest husband and wife, Ben and Erin Napier, and how they restore and remodel homes in Laurel, MS. Typically every episode Erin will show an easy DIY project to incorporate into the home they are working on. This DIY pressed floral art is my favorite project she’s shown. It’s my kind of project- easy & affordable! I give all the credit to her!

What you’ll need…

  • Picture frame- I picked up these $12 floating frames from Target
  • Two stone pavers- I picked up two from Home Depot. I think they were $1 for both- so cheap!
  • Paper towels
  • Flowers/plants- You can use your favorite flower or plant. I used a $5 bouquet from the grocery store, lavender and clipped some leaves from our eucalyptus tree

Once you have everything, here are the steps…

  • Clip your flowers to whatever size you would like for the frame
  • Place the flowers between the pavers with a few paper towels covering both sides of the plant. This gives a little padding for the flowers between the heavy pavers.
  • Place the pavers in the microwave and turn it on for 2-3 minutes. Be careful, the pavers will be hot so use your oven mitts!
  • Arrange your flowers however you like in the frame and that’s it!!
Before going in the microwave!
After! Perfectly dried but still so pretty.

These were so fun and easy to make. Not to mention they were so inexpensive! I made one for my mom for Mother’s Day and she loved it! Hope you enjoyed this little DIY!

Thanks so much!
